I never tried the switchblade since I really love my triamp and don't look for other amps all that much, but in general H&K do quality stuff.
I tried a couple of other H&Ks and they all sounded great. may bandmate plays an attax which is adoreable and a great bang for the buck.
even the 30w tube combo my school had in the music-class back in these days was really awesome.
you should give them a try.
probably wasn't much help, but I just wanted to say I'm pro H&K.
I had the switchblade as well as the TriAmp. The switchblade was a really cool amp. I personally didn't have any issues with the amp, but I know some people who did. The amp has 4 channels, from clean to mean, with built in FX and 128 programable memory slots. I would recommend it if you need a very versatile amp.
we had 2 in the studio. They both broke. We opened one up and to tell you the truth.. it didn't look very impressive inside. Fairly cheaply made. They sounded pretty good when they were working though. I wouldn't recommend it.
I didn't have any problems with it but, truthfully I rather have a Spider Valve head (which I do have) over a Switchblade head based on tone. Now a Triamp MKII would be an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT story. THAT is a killer sounding amp. Wish I didn't sell that one
