Nothin much to say but sexy beast of an amp.
Handmade in California, Late 80's, or early 90's
Living in an apt plus not even playin for years, she has sat sealed in a rack for too long.
Broke her out today just to admire the beauty of Mesa Engineering and to prepare to send her off for new tubes/tune up.
The time has come to try to find my groove again.
• SIMUL CLASS™ POWER.
• 95 WATTS PER CHANNEL: 4 X 6L6 PER CHANNEL.
• 2 "LEVEL", 2 "PRESENCE" CONTROLS PER CHANNEL.
• "DEEP EXTEND/NORMAL" VOICING SWITCH PER CHANNEL.
• "HALF DRIVE/FULL POWER VOICING/POWER REDUCTION” SWITCH PER CHANNEL.
• INDIVIDUAL "STANDBY" SWITCH FOR EACH CHANNEL.
• ACTIVE COOLING FROM 2 FANS.
• COLOR CODED POWER INDICATING LEDS FOR EACH CHANNEL.
• SIMUL-CLASS/CLASS A SWITCH (OPERATES WITH SWITCHING LOGIC).
• PARALLELED 1/4” INPUT FOR "MONO" OPERATION.
• "SWITCHTRACK" LOGIC PORT (1/4” JACK).
• (2) 8ohm and (2) 4ohm SPEAKER OUTPUTS PER CHANNEL.
• 3 RACK SPACES
It itches to drive (4) 4x12s for a wall of tone.
Bummer, I have only (2) 1960b 4x12s
Each side has two channels, which you can program by using the full/half power, normal/deep extend,
Class A/Simul Class (Class A + Class A/B), volume and presence switches and knobs.
So much flexibility.
Mates with a Soldano SP-77 or Mesa Studio Preamp, which I'll save for another post when I break them out for tuneups.
However, I've been seduced by Uberschall tone, which includes the simplicity of being just a head.
The last pic is to ask opinions, because I just don't remember and can't think straight.
Each side has dual inputs for 4 and 8 ohms.
Parallel/Series I've been outta the loop for a while.
It looks parallel, which means I can plug two 16 ohm cabs into the dual 8 inputs (for a combined total of 8) or two 8 ohm cabs into the dual 4 inputs for a total of 4. Right? lol
I believe I'd set my two 1960s at 4ohms mono, and plug a single line to a single 4 ohm input on each side. Damn, it's been awhile.
Well, on to the eye candy. New camera too (Nikon D90)
