Great pickup, but that's more low mids and bass. He's looking for something with more treble that's closer to an EMG 81. The X2N is pretty much what he wants.

The X2N definitely wins the output battle, but it is also one of the worst pickups for clarity and dynamics that I've ever come across when used with a high gain amp. It works much better driving something like a plexi or 800 than it does going into something like a Dual Rec or Uber.
I have been using a Tone Zone in my SL1 bridge position and I absolutely love it. Right now, I have been playing in tuned down to C through an Axe FX and it just crushes my guitars with EMG 85's or 81's.
