  • G-Major Multi-effects or XT Pro

Ah I know I am just bouncing all over here with which to go for but I saw 2 deals both excellent in their own right.

XT Pro with Line 6 Foot controller at sub $300 and the other was a G-Major, in 4 space rack with conditioner & FCB1010 Midi Footcontroller sub $500. I have heard a lot of good things about the G-Major.

I would miss overdrive effects and I got rid of my JMP 1 pre amp years back which I bet would work sweet with that unit.

Anybody know if the XT Pro is as flexible as the XT Live? with foor switch it means 2 pedals so that issue is overcome.

I've tried both devices. The TC is only designed to go in a loop whereas the XT can operate on it's own. Certainly the TC will be a lot cheaper than the Line6.

Yeah the XT seems more flexible and in this case cheaper, the bundle cannot be separated so you end up paying for the power conditioner etc and the G Major is now 299 or less new as the G-Major 2 is out (I had not realized). I kinda wish the XT was in that rack as it is a nice footswitch and combo.

The Line 6 FB is the Mk1 but if things hold true for that as with the other modern devices the old model may actually be more reliable (switches) LOL

Strike that I just go t a message to say the price dropped on the G-Major bundle it is now sub 400. I don't think the pedal can do tuner which sucks (I could be wrong) but the pedl gets better ratings for flexibility and expression use and the effects seem a lot cleaner...now I wish I never got rid of the preamp but I guess instead of replacing my old Boss I could always use it as well.

Now I am tempted to get the XT Live to back up my Boss and the bundle to move back to racks. Best of both worlds?

If you only want effects the major is probly better

Yeah, I have to agree. If you only want it for the effects, and don't care for a preamp, go with the Major.
