Hey all - not sure which area of the board to post this.. so, if it needs to move, please do so...
I recently scored a killer ESP Strat style H/S (my fave layout)...Alder body, maple top, one piece maple neck. I have 3 other guitars with this config - one is a Holy Diver/HS-3 (old schecter w/ swimming pool rout) , one is Duncan Distortion/Hotrails (ESP M-II Dlx), and the other is a Seymour Duncan EVH/Duncan SST (GMW).
This one has a JBjr in the neck, and currently sports a Screamin' Demon.. not a fan of the demon.Wondering what a good bridge p'up choice would be... I do like the Duncan Custom (have one in my LP), and Aldrich sounds OK to me (though I like the aldrich neck more than the bridge)
Trying to not have the same exact sound in each guitar - a little flavor, ya know? I liked the sound of my old EBMM EVH.. I called DiMarzio and was told that their Tone Zone was the closest pickup currently produced that would get that tone. Did not like the Tone Zone in my old ESP M-II... was too "quacky" or cocked wah sounding to me. That is all alder, BTW.
My typical rig is an ENGL Savage 120 through a mix of cabs... all different celestions, or a Genz Benz 2x12
Thoughts? Feedback? Thanks
