  • Marshall 1959RR Live

About a month ago I posted that I wanted to use my Marshall Randy Rhoads amp live. Well, last Friday night I did that successfully! I already posted this pic in the USA Charvel section but here it is again along with my recently Mike Learn graphic'd Charvel Pro Mod
The combo performed admirably with no noise, hum, or anything and no noise gates were used! I could get controlled feedback by turning towards the amp. Its a non-master volume amp so a THD Hot Plate was used to attenuate it and not blow everyone out of the room I used Zaolla guitar cables and George L's cables to wire the pedal board and loopers as well as Evidence Audio Siren cables for the speaker cab and attenuator. Everything was plugged into a Furman Power Factor Pro for clean power. The main pedal used upfront was a Fulltone OCD and sometimes a Retro-Sonic 808. Occassionally I used the Retro-Sonic Analog Delay and Chorus pedals as well as Dr. Scientist Radical Reverberator depending on the song. This setup Rocks! I do want to try an Alex's Attenuator instead of the THD Hot Plate next.

I recently bought a Zoom H4N. Once I read up on it and figure out how to use it I'll try to get some live clips

Yep, our singer can do it. In fact he occassionally shows up at local karaoke nights and sings that one leaving people amazed and walks away

Very impressive, that song takes some friggin' pipes.

He's a righty who plays lefty sort of, go figure. He loves 80's hair band stuff as do the rest of us so it works out well. We have more gigs coming up in Jan and Feb
