  • Blackstar HT-5

I just purchased a Blackstar HT-5, it's a 2 channel 5w head w/2 mini cabs loaded w/Celestion 40w.....unbelievable tone, this thing sounds incredible! It sounds great at a low volume, the beauty is that when you turn it up, that's all it does, it doesn't color/change the sound, it just gets louder and sounds great! It even has an effects loop. It has a clean channel, but I didn't buy it for the clean channel. I got it at GC for $459 for all 3 pieces. It's small, but has a KILLER sound, check one out if you can, they ROCK!
It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel....

I have one of these which I run through a Marshall 1960A 4x12. 5W through a 4x12 is plenty loud enough to bring on the tinnitus quite quickly when practicing at home.

It has a lot of features for its size and price. Furthermore, Blackstar are releasing a new range at NAMM building on the HT-5 - an HT-20 head and combo, HT-40 and HT-60 1x12 combos, an HT-60 2x12 combo and a 100W head. The HT-20 head has my attention - small but well into gig-able territory.
