really!?! that good, eh? hell, i think thats just what i'll do. what can i expect to pay for a used one? have you used it in a band setting competing with a 412?

i agree about the xtc module. i kept reading bad reviews on it and people hatin on it, but the first day i got my rm i had a ultra and an xtc for gain settings and i too liked the tone of the xtc better. guess bogner tone is like that. you either like/hate it(so i've heard). i've never owned one.
cant wait to hear how the xtc sounds modded.

Yeah, the modules can be addicting. I bought a bunch of them but on the plus side, all of them were bought used off E-Bay or the MTS Forum so I got them for reasonable prices. I also picked up along the way an RM4 rackmount preamp as well as a Randall RT 2/50 power amp, again for decent prices. That Randall power amp is heavy! So for anyone thinking of going the rack route over the RM100 head route for the sake of weight savings, you aren't going to accomplish it this way

Hmmm. I didn't like the XTC (stock) or my G-Flex cab. Hope I can still post at JCF.

my other guitarist is actually using my old slant 4x12 & I've had no problem competing with him on stage. We're both running 100w tube heads & my JCM900 projects beautifully from the stage (have confirmed by wandering into the crowd with my new wireless unit!! )

can't help you with how much to pay secondhand. Prices over here are always significantly higher than in the States. I did get a great deal on mine new ($666 ) and have been keeping an eye out for another used one but never see any on Oz Ebay.

Yeah, you can still post as long as you send your XTC to Pete to mod it and use a Bogner 4x12 cab with Celestion 25w Greenbacks like I do
Out of curiousity, what tubes do you have in your RM100? I have EL34 tubes in mine. Perhaps yours is running 6L6's? That along with the cab/speaker choice, and tubes in the pre-amp module as well as power tubes make for a lot of variables.

I couldn't sell the XTC fast enough.

I no longer have the amp, but Pete does have my XTC.

I had the RM100KH, and it had JJ 6L6's in it. I was running mine into a 1960B - my favorite cab.

thanks, Shawn. <- note the shit-eating grin? I'm still loving this amp. I used to really like the JCM900, but I'm LOVIN' the RM100

                    Even the XTC.

Congrats on getting your RM100. I like mine. Run it through my G-Flex 2X12 cab. You are right about module collecting being addictive. I counted mine yesterday. I have 18 of them! WTF?
Mine are all stock but I am going to get some of them modded.

There are quite a few differences there then. I'm assuming your Marshall cab has Celestion 75W speakers in it? I was using mine through a Bogner 4x12 loaded with 25W Celestion British Greenbacks plus my Randall has EL34 power tubes while yours had 6L6's in it. I can't say how yours sounded, only you know that, but my XTC module sounded fine through my setup. And thats the stock module, not even talking about the Pete modded XTC module yet

I am still completely sold and stoked on my RM100 running a Blackface, Ultra and XTC stock modules. Having 2 effects loops is outstanding and the amp just plain rocks at just about any volume level.

maybe i need to hold on to mine and keep messin with it. we practice in a tire shop so the concrete walls probably have an adverse affect on the tone since sound is bouncing all over the place....instead of goin back to mesa i should probably try a modded treadplate/recto

You probably know.. I have owned just about every amp on the planet.
Tubes, SS, Modeling. I have had everything. Vintage, modern, modded. You name it.. I probably owned it.
The RM100 is an outstanding piece of gear. Couple it with a good cab with good speakers and its the ultimate tube amp.
