  • Original MXR Flanger

I have a 1979 MXR flanger, and it worked fine, until I plugged a bass into it with active pups. It instantly made a loud noise then nothing but buzzing.

In another thread it was posted that the bass with the active pups most likely had nothing to do with it, so does anyone have any clue what may have happened to this thing?

I hope it won't cost me more to get it fixed than it is worth.

Check the simple stuff first. Like did the wires come loose from the jacks.

I did actually take it apart, and let me tell you, unlike my New EVH FLanger, this older one is really built solid , even on the inside. Everything right down to the wiring just looks beefed up compared to the newer MXR Models.

I didn't notice any thing loose, or anything like that.
