  • Faulty Power Distro?

Every time I turn my power distribution unit (Samson PB10) on, I can hear a subtle high pitched noise coming from it. It's not loud, but I'm concerned. I turned off all the gear connected to it, and the noise is still there, until I turn the distro off. Should I replace the distro with a better one (in which case, which brand/model), or go back to using a consumer based extension board? There's a ton of rackmount distro's on ebay, but they're not by Furman or Samson, and don't know whether to trust them.

is the PB10 a power distributor only or is it also a power conditioner?

It could be transformer windings or a choke oscillating or something. Hard to say without opening it up to see what component the noise would be coming from though.

I might just replace the damn thing. Only cost me £70. The noise is intermittent.
