  • Affordable American Made Tube Amp Head?

Since so many people complain when us poor folks buy a foreign made amp, what's made in the USA that is 50-100w ALL tube amp head say under $1,200. (What gets me is that even if you buy American made that company probably has their lower models made in china-ala peavey).
I picked $1,200 since peavey and carvin both have heads in that price range.

Isn't the Peavy 6120 in that range? I don't know. Except for my Boogie, every tube amp I've owned has been made where they're supposed to be - England.

This one runs around $800 Canadian. (Made in Canada so the US prices may have additional duties/taxes)

They have a 3 channel 100 watt version as well that runs around $1100.

Technically they are foreign made if you are in the US, but they are North American made. (With sovtek tubes.)

Hmm, today even that is debatable
seems like if someone within the borders of the US only sticks on the volume knob it's classified as "Made in USA"

I second Traynor amps! I got a YCV40 combo that I bought brand new when they came out a few years ago. At that time I think I paid less than 600$ for it (including our sucking taxes here). Awesome amp. Push it with your favorite overdrive and you can cover a lot of styles with it.

I need to make my question more clear. I'm looking for Made in the United states NEW.
I watch board members get trashed for buying chinese amps(To me there is no difference if you buy english, german, or chinese it's the same effect on the US economy)and get told you should by USA made, but what is there? A few Carvin and Peavey models?
I looked up some of the amp models listed they are discontinued, WAY too much money or foreign made(or you can't find where it's made).
