it sounds funny but one of the best clean channel (solid state) amps i've played is a raven from guitar center. everything else on the cheap POS amp is worthless but they made a heck of a nice clean channel.

i like fender tube amps the best for cleans, i think.
good tone isn't something you learn, its something you develop.

+1 on the JC120, nothing I have played (Marshall, Legacy, Mesa, Engl) has come close.

Fuchs Clean Machine rules all, without doubt. $3200 for the 100 watt head, and clean is all it does. It has no "sweet spot"; it is beautiful, full and tubey clean at all volume levels.

You heard right, in my humble opinion. To me, the JC120 is the ultimate in pretty, "sparkling" cleans with a nice, even EQ.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Line 6 Vetta yet. I play a Vetta II HD across two 4x12's in stereo. My favorite clean sound is double-amped with a JC120 on both (and no, I don't care if the emulation isn't exact) with a slightly panned delay and some reverb.

                It'll melt in your mouth.
