  • Another sweet score (Klemt Echolette S)

Klemt Echolette S tape echo unit.

My uncle bought this new in 1961. Missing all the cords/cables, and supposedly doesn't work. But it's in like new condition. Original telefunken tubes (4xECC83, 1xECC82, plus an ultra cool EM84 "glo tube" for the display). I'm going to have some fun trying to restore this. Any advice for this restoration newb? I'm thinking it will be a good starter project seeing as it shouldn't involve any dangerous power tube voltages?

Sorry for the fuzzy pics, my camera battery was dead so I used my phone.

    Those are damn good pics!

This reminds me of the Cordovox system that my Mom used to gig with back in the 1960s. It's in my garage; I need to take some pics.

        Any advise?

Don't restore it if it's working.

Don't fix it if it isn't broke.

First try to find out what's not working. It doesn't look to be in very bad shape.
