Played a Marshall JVM the other night...

    I looked at the JVM a couple of years ago, but decided to keep the Vetta. Yes, it sounded great but I kept going back to the problem I have with the old JCM 800 2210: it's a one-trick pony. I realize that the JVM is probably the first Marshall with a decent clean, but I just can't imagine it sounding better than my JC120 stereo setup on the Vetta.

    To each his own, though. Sometimes a sound grabs you and there's no escaping. I know the feeling.

      I replaced all the preamp tubes right away! the chinese and the JJ type suck the tone out. I put 2 nos then 2 EH's and a GE for the PI slot. EQ in the loop, Smooths it out more.
