I totally love my Vetta II. It has everything I ever wanted in an amp.

You mean like the first versions of the Axe? 5 years ago? Even version 2.5 was a monster!

after monkeying with quite a few amps ,I settled on a Vetta 2 combo but hate upward facing control panels so a good friend picked up a head cab(empty) for me and I converted it to accept the combo chassis.I have about $850 in the whole set up.

I have been toying around with a POD X3 bean for the last several months and I am either going to get an FBV foot board for it or sell it and get another GT-8. I have some jam nights I want to do and I would like to just bring a modeler and plug into the board.

My Randall RM100 stack just isn't practical to bring to a jam night. Neither is my 5150II.

I always find it amusing that any thread in the amp forum that RB posts in turns into commentary on the AxeFx. We get that you REALLY like it. We truly do. However, it has nothing to do with the Vetta II. Also, not everyone out there can afford a $2K preamp, so can we try to stick to the topic at hand? Either that or just start a "Why the Axe is better than your amp" forum?

              Just sayin'...

I'm not sure if its been discussed, but the Axe-FX is a better option

I've had a Vetta I combo for a few years now. It was upgraded to the II's software.

John, get an XT Live and a Crate Powerblock and call it a day as you waltz into the gig with everything but your cab in one trip.

I have a POD X3 Bean now. I was considering getting an FBV floorboard for it but it would be easier just to get an XT live. I do like the 2 amps at once thing though. Maybe a GT-8. I have owned a few of them over the years. I just need to sell or trade the X3 if I can't find a cheap FBV for it.

Why not just keep the Randall and get something like an X3 Live or GT10 to plug into the fx return when you need a ton of different sounds? Shouldn't be any worse for modeling than a Vetta really?

actually it would..........the Vetta is equipped with 2 celestion 90 watt "flat response" speakers. The flat response is so the character of the speakers do NOT color the sound of the speaker emulations.I have 3 different expansion cabs for my Vetta and some speakers work better for cleans and others for overdrive but only the original flat response speakers work best for all.
