To 6505 or not to 6505???

For some reason the matching 4x12 cab isnt a good match for the 6505+ head. Anything w/V30's or GT12's really bring a good tone out of the head, its like they spent all of their time on the head and just threw a cab together w/whatever they had lying around.

On the contrary, the matching cab for the 6534 is fantastic.

I think of classic rock sound as an old Marshall with the front end pushed. Tons of drop tuned metal bands like to use those Peavey amps. And they all sound the same. Usually noisy mush with the one finger drop D power cord non-stop.

I plugged into a 6534+ recently and liked it better than the regular 6505.

If you read my post above... I ordered my 6505! It will be a regular one.

i would look into a used XXX instead. IMO they sound like the 5150 wanted to but never quite made it. plus they have the rectifier tight/loose switch.
