    Chris,

It's all good as long as you are happy. Glad to hear that you are liking it. Some people love it, some people just don't jive. My biggest problem is that I start to spend too much time having fun in the editor rather then playing. It's not because I am not satisfied with what I am getting out of it, I just start tweeking like a meth-freak on a binge instead of playing. It's fun screwing around and seeing what kind of abstract routing and combinations you can come up with.

What is your Cab/Amp/FRFR setup now?

On a side note I played through my other guitatist's backup RM100 rig at rehearsal last week (he has two) and loved it...used the Tweed/Plexi/Ultra modules and pretty much nailed the tones I needed. Without a doubt a great bang for the buck head (but crazy heavy!).
Yea, I am still digging my RM100. I have the Blackface, Ultra and XTC modules. That sucker is one heavy mofo though. It takes 2 people to carry it when its in the roadcase.

I like it big time, Nate. It's pretty amazing. I will ig into it with the editor, but as with my 11R, what I usually en up doing it setting up abut a half dozen sounds, all with the same basic effects, so at the end of the day, my sound is simple but effective. I don't mess around with all the extra EQ's - just the "knobs on the amp" model...

It's funny, I grabbed the 11R because I know I won't be able to afford the axe-fx for a while now and I totally love it just playing through my KRK monitors/subwoofer. And because I find it so awesome I want the Axe-fx even more.

And I figure once I have an Axe-fx, the 11R can be my back up unit. Damn I'm a friggin gear whore hehe.

jgcable, I have an RM100 and the two modules I use most of the time are XTC for distortion and Blackface for clean. Its a great sounding amp, no doubt. And yes, its heavy but that amp can hang with some others costing twice as much. I think the RM100 is perhaps the best bang for the buck going in tube amps and the most versatile.
On the Mesa Rectos. They do sound good and can be crushing in tone but I found my Dual Recto tough to dial in. Once it was dialed in it sounded great. However the biggest problem with the Recto is you can't get that good tone without turning it up. Its one of those amps that sounds crappy at low volumes but really comes to life when you crank it. My Axe Fx OTOH can sound amazing at low, medium, and high volume

Hellbat - that's exactly where I was. I just got lucky and had a friend call me about the deal on the Axe. I played around with the 11R last night for a bit. It's still a great unit to be sure. They both have a similar "feel". If I fell into bad times and really needed cash, i'd be able to live with just the 11R.

How do you like the Velocity 300? I'm considering that as a replacement for my Classic 50/50 poweramp. Does the reactance control actually give you a tube feel/vibe?

OK I'm done hijacking the thread.

I'm very satisfied with it. Does it emulate tubes? Hard to say, but I will confirm that the two controls are awesome for adjusting for volume differences between playing at gig volume and home practice volume. It's the best poweramp I've owned to date as far as sound goes. I'm not a fan of tube poweramps with modellers, because I find that they tend to color the tone more than I like. YMMV. I see you're in MN - if you are in the TC area, you can certainly come over and take it for a spin. PM me if you're interested.

I was there a couple of weeks ago for the Megadeth/Slayer/Testament show. Kind of wish MEgadeth would have closed the show instead of SLayer (bigger Deth fan than Slayer). But a good show anyway. It's cool to hear the 300 sounds good. Do they carry those in store at GC in the cities?
