Video testing out my marshall jcm 2000 dsl halfstack and dod malmsteen pedal
I would have liked to hear it with no reverb. I am on the fence on this one bro. Doesn't really sound too good to me. It does sound like a Marshall but not in a good way.
Wow, is the reverb built in to the amp? That's wetter than a 21 year old virgin at Mardi Gras. I like a bit of reverb myself but that was just a LOT.
Also like 6string40 said, you should look into a noise gate. I recommend something the ISP Decimator product line. I think there is one for sale in the classifieds right now even.
yeah, thats the reverb on the amp. i had it maxed out. ill make more videos with less reverb. i think i had most controlls maxed. im going to get a noise gate soon after i pay off some other stuff. i also recorded this in my bedroom so feedback was pretty crazy. thanx for the comments. im trying to get this to sound the best it can. i have new preamp tubes i haven't put them in yet. i bought this half stack used for 900$ . also if anyone has any eq settings for me to try that would be cool too

Dial down the gain, and forget the reverb. Put the midrange at about 5. Put the treble on 8 and the bass on 6. If the amp has presence put it on 5. Try boosting the crunch channel (channel 2) withe the YJM out in front. Set the YJM up at unity gain setting. What that means is set it up so that stepping on the YJM does virtually nothing. Once you have that set.. dial up the gain on the YJM a few numbers and increase the level a few numbers.
try this.
On the crunch channel try the presence and treble all the way down, and the mid and bass all the way up. All buttons out (deep off, mid shift off, hi gain off). Gain around 6 or so. Then hit it with the DOD YJM with the level up all the way and gain down all the way. (You might need to back the level down to halfway depending on how much level the DOD actually gives you.)
