Rhino Beast - Anyone have any insight on these things?

I've heard that Rhino amps sounded pretty much atrocious, but I just bought one really cheap anyway. At worst, I can cannibalize it for parts, or turn it into something else. Can it really be that bad? It can't possibly be as bad as a Genz Benz El Diablo right?

LOL, yeah pretty much. I tried one out, once at a local music store, and I can honestly say it was easily the worst sounding amp I've ever played.

Didn't Malmsteen have an endorsment with Rhino for a few months. I think they called his sig model the Blackstar.

i believe so. that is why i thought blackstar amps were somehow related to malmsteen when they first came out....

Yeah, I've seen those for sale on Ebay once in a while too, but never this cheap.

I wasn't aware there was any connection at all with Kiss. Blackstar are an English company, and as far as I know have no connection with Kiss at all.

As for the Rhino, the Fedex tracking info says it should be here on Tuesday (thanks to the Labour Day long weekend here in Canada). So far I haven't found a single person with actual hands-on experience with one of these things, but the general here-say tends to indicate that these things are cheaply made with shitty components, and that they sound really bad. At least that is according to a couple of HCAF "experts". So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I'll be sure to post lots of pics, and maybe even a sound clip.
