  • Splawn or Randall Cab

I have 1 of those rm22 heads that randall put out a few months ago. Playing it thru my Splawn 2x12 but I wanted to get a more portable cab so Im looking at a 1x12. I see Randall has them suited for the mts heads with a greenback . I called Splawn and they have a 1x12 with a small block (greenback clone) rated at 55 watts. Thing is they are the same price so I dont know if Id be better with the Randall cause it matches the head or the Splawn because I know its sound already and its a well built cab. Cant play them side by side ,what do you think should i go Splawn? I know the same company cab is SUPPOSED to sound better but Im not sure what to do . Im leaning towards the Splawn .

I have never tried a Splawn cabinet but my Egnater Rebel 112x matches up nicely with my Rm20 head. Everything from the Mr. Scary to a JTM sounds full and warm through it. The Rebel has a Celestion Elite 80 which is just an Egnater labeled Celestion Classic Lead. Very nice pairing. I use it for rehearsals all the time.

Hey Jack is it heavy to lug around? Thats a big issue with me and what was the cost? Maybe I could try 1 of those ,I think they are at guitar center.

They are light compared to everything else. I think they are around 30lbs. Lighter than your 2x12. You can get then at GC. That cab and the RM20 is the lightest rig I have.
