Hey all,
Today I picked up a Roland Cube 80x as my portable amp. My drummer is moving and he wants my V3 out of his house, so I decided I would pickup an amp I can bring around easily. Anyway, it was on sale for $350 and I have played Cubes in the past, and this one doesn't disappoint. Loud, 1x12 speaker, 10 COSM Amp models... Sounds great and is only around 30 pounds. Also has a 3 band EQ and a Presence knob. I like this thing better than a Spider or Vypyr. I was going to get one a while back but I decided against it and moved my V3 into my drummer's house for use there, keeping my more expensive amps at my house. But when he was downsizing he didn't want to have the combo in his apartment so I had to remove it and finally purchase one of these things. The music store threw in 3 free picks though.
The models are as follows:
JC Clean - Roland JC120
Acoustic Sim - Self-explanatory
Black Panel - Fender Twin
DLX Combo - Fender Deluxe
Brit combo - Vox AC30
Tweed - Fender bassman
Classic Stack - Marshall JMP 1987
Metal Stack - Peavey 5150
R-Fier - Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
Also includes a tuner, built in FX and a programmable channel.
In short, if anyone's looking for a reliable, affordable, loud amp, I would def. pick this one up. I'm pleased and I've only plugged into it for about 30 minutes.
