New Marshall cab day + question

I got this 1922 cab last week, but it never had the logo or speakers so I put them on/in today. I've still to wire them and I'm wondering if it's safe to just wire the pair of them straight to the mono output on the amp? The 1922 and 1936 cabinets have a stereo option, and I have a wiring diagram showing how to do it as it comes from the factory, but I'm thinking, since I'll never use the stereo option - just wire both speakers to the mono out?

This is the wiring diagram, although I'm using two 16ohm speakers, in parallel to get 8ohms.

I psoted this on the Marshall forum but that place doesn't seem to get much traffic. Or maybe they just all hate me.

I believe you'll be fine hardwiring to the mono input. Could you remove the whole thing and replace it with a simple mono jack? I've never used those cabs but something about vibration and that switch bothers me.

Thanks for the reply Chief. I cut the two connector wires on the input jack (the ones connecting the stereo and mono sides) so it's basically just a mono one now. I'm gonna wire it all up on Thursday, hopefully it won't explode my amp or anything.
