  • Need a good delay pedal

Im looking for a delay pedal that has that smooth siren like wail sound when you do a bend up a fret or two. All the delays that I can afford do that that rough step up through the notes thing, sounds more like an echo pedal to me and Ive already got an echo pedal. Is there something like this available for under $50? Under $100? The DD7 is way off, Im not spending $200 on a pedal. The DD3 is slightly more reasonable but still $100. Any suggestions?

I love the Vox JS Time Machine. Give it a try but make sure you run it in the loop.

Is that an analog or digital produced sound? I can't place it in my head.

I really like my Line 6 Echo Park. Choice between various sounds (digital, analog, tape) and great tap function where you tap lightly for tempo and hard for turning the delay on and off.

Electroharmonix Memory Man Deluxe (expensive ~$300) or Memory Boy (less expensive ~$115) or Memory Toy (even less expensive~$90)

I've read lots of glowing reviews on the MXR Carbon Copy, but at or under $100, the Boss DD-3 is the only thing I've tried (and owned) that is what I would consider a great digital delay. I have a Tech 21 Boost D.L.A. that I like a lot, but it's quite a bit more expensive and colors the tone a lot . . . because it's meant to. If I wasn't using that, I'd still use my DD-3.

I'm happy with my DD-3. I can't say that I can hear a difference between the various digital delays I've tried.

The satriani delay is set up so simply and sounds so good. I think it totally smokes the Boss and the Line 6 pedals.
