I'm placing an order for the JCA50H and 2x12 cab Thursday after we return from the field. I should have it by the following weekend and I'll pass on my impressions after I have a few hours of play time with it. If it's anything even close to a Soldano, I'll be beyond pleased.
Standby...

anyone know anything about these products???
I have the 20W Reverb Combo, and I've been using it as a rehearsal rat. No issues as yet but that's only based
on maybe 20 hours of playing time, so who knows down the line?
For an import, the fit and finish are really nice. I use mine through an external cabinet, although the onboard
spkr seems okay for lower volumes. I had the master about halfway up, and I was afraid of blowing the spkr.,
plus it sounded pretty flubby when pushed. Through a big, closed-back cab, it's pretty solid. The tone on
it is really great. Really excellent for old-school rock rhythm guitar. For lead, I like to hammer the front with
a good boost pedal. But that's cool, as this amp seems to like pedals up front just fine. the louder you run it, the
better it sounds without a pedal, obviously...
On the minus side, it's only a single channel, which isn't a minus at all for me, but YMMV. Also
lacks an FX loop, which sucks...
For the $, seems like a really nice amp. Compares very well to my Mesa Studio .22, as a point
of reference. I like it enough to want to take a shot at the 50W head somewhere down the line...

We had to cancel the training, so here I am!
Order just placed through Musician's Friend. It'll be here Friday. Also, I snagged a Weber Mini MASS attenuator off of eBay to pair it with. I won't be able to mic it and direct record with it until January or so (ordering that stuff after Christmas leave is over) but I'll pass off my first impressions as best I can.
I'm pretty stoked.

I picked up the JCA50H and the JCA24S cab. I also e-mailed Jet City to insure that the tranny can handle a swap over to KT88's with the proper bias adjustment. Back in the day when I owned a Soldano Avenger (which I stupidly sold), I used to run 88's and I'd like to do the same in this amp. I also know that a bunch of Soldano Hot Rod owners use KT66's, so I asked about those as well. If they give it the go-ahead, I'll make the swap over to some JJ KT88's with high-gain JJ 12AX7's for the preamp. From what I've seen and heard, this amp is almost a dead-on Hot Rod 50, and if that really is the case, I'm going to shit rocket through the roof on Friday.
I'll be ordering a Sennheiser e609 and a decent mic preamp after I return from Christmas leave, so around mid-January there will be some well recorded clips posted. (HOPEFULLY with some 88's in there!)
