  • How to run a boss ns-2 with a aby box?

I want it to be the last stomp box in my chain in the front of my amps, I want the ns-2 working for both amps(6506,(5150iii) and also need to put tube screamers int front of both as well, do I have any options besides running two noise sopressers?

i assume you want noise suppression after the Tube screamers? If so, then you'd need two NS-2's I think.

if not, you could have Guitar -> Pedal A,B,C -> Y input of ABY Box -> NS-2. (Not sure if this would work), but you can then run one cable from Out of NS-2 -> Tube screamer -> Amp 1 and then one cable from Send of NS-2 -> TS -> Amp 2

EDIT: Just realized that it will not work the way I suggested. Sorry.

The NS-2 is designed to be first in the chain with all your noisy pedals in It's loop.

Guitar -> NS-2 Input, NS-2 Send -> Tuner (if you have it) ->Tube Screamer -> any other noisy pedals that are not delay or reverb -> NS-2 Return, NS-2 Output -> ABY box -> amps.

You should not need another noise suppressor.

Never though about it that way, will it sck tone from the tube screamer? As it is the ns-2 takes some sustain away, especially one the evh iii don't know why but it dose? Not to drag this out but what if I wanted to switch noise gates to the ISP desamator rack unit or stomp box

The NS-2 is just a very basic noise gate. If you're using high end gear like the 5150 III, you should try using the ISP decimator G-string or something with the onboard loop and connect it like Dreamland suggested. And yes, the NS-2 does take away gobs of tone and suck up sustain.

Every pedal takes a little something away by just being plugged into the signal chain... But I wouldn't worry about it. You'll never notice it over the Cymbals.

+1 on that. you got the solution for him.

I have an NS-2, run the pedals in its loop, works like a charm!

I have used a NS-2 for over 10 years with 4 different amps and have never found it to suck tone & sustain. It just must be used correctly. I have compared it to the decimator and the results are similar. the key to the NS2 is, you must follow the directions and use its loop to get it to do its job. most people just plug it in the chain and complain. I sincerely dont see how people give it a bad rap.
