  • Power Surge With Tube Amp

I've run into a little bit of a problem with my amp. So yesterday I was playing guitar through my POD X3 into my Peavey Windsor head, when all of a sudden I got a power surge, and my POD shut off, therefor causing my amp to pop and start buzzing as is normal with amps when you cut the power to an input. Anyway I immediatly shut off my amp and let it chill for about an hour or so before turning it on. But now when I turn it on and play through it the sound is weak as hell along with being super fuzzy, almost like a blown speaker, but I've ruled that possiblity out already.

So basically I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas as to what exactly happened, I've checked the fuse and that's all good, but while I was checking the back I noticed one of the power tubes wasn't glowing, and was wondering if that could have blown when the power surged and if that would give me the problems I've been experiencing. I plan on taking it to the shop this week, but I'd just kinda like to know what I'm getting into. any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the tube doesn't glow would say you popped a tube.
Take the tube in and have it checked first if its a gonner get a new one and try it.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.
