im searching for a pick up with a nice squel sound not like a zakk wylde type of sound like a rowan robertson tone.
i was thinking semour duncans what are some good pickups from them?

Just throw a JB or Duncan Distortion in and call it a day. Either sounds godly in Mahogany.

No, the JB actually has more output than the Custom, but the Custom sounds better!

For a great growl with good pinch harmonics... I went with Dean Michael Schenkers Lights Out pickups. I used to use Duncan Full Shreds for a long time, but it was a little over the top.

Too funny. I'm using a Full Shred set in a 750XL to get a Schenker tone.

Those squeal harmonics...a lot of that depends on the right pick attack and the gain/amp configuration. If you're having a tough time getting those to sound right it might be one or both of those factors. That said, didn't or doesn't ZW use EMG's
