This is very odd, the clean should be a hard module to push, not a KH1 designed for active high output pups though
But at least one that doesn't distort easily

From what I understand, that 470 ohm resistor was somewhat of an error from the factory and is updated in later versions and makes a big difference. If I was keeping it, I'd change it. And also from what I understand, the KH1 is very similar to a Blackface that doesn't break up even at very high volumes..

Is it possible one of the tubes are fading in the module? That may be the reason for unwanted breakup in the clean module. I had a kh1 and liked it alot.

I don't know but as it's not my module, I'm not messing with it. It seems this was a popular issue with the clean modules when they first came out. Then that resistor was changed and it was good. And even cleaner when some put a 12au7 in V1 instead of the 12ax7. Supposedly the KH1 doesn't have any of these issues and I should have it soon..

Agreed about that one. After I put the Blackface in my RM100 for the clean channel I stopped using the others like Clean, Tweed, etc... An even nicer clean sound was when i was using my EBMM Petrucci guitar which has a piezo pickup. I ran it into a Radial Engineering Switchbone so that I had simultaneous acoustic sound from an SWR California Blonde amp and the Blackface module for the clean electric sound. That was killer clean sound!

Congrats on your RM100! RM100,RM20 head and RM20 combo owner here. I like my Egnater single channel`DLX and Twin modules a little better than my Randall modules. I own 20 modules but I am way overdue on getting them modded! I do like the KH1 and the Clean.
