  • Hughes & Kettner Attax 80 watt Combo?

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody here has had any experience with this amp, I might be picking up a used one in the next few days and the internet is lacking information... i've heard a lot of good stuff about the cleans... that's about it and unfortunate for me, none of the information I have heard actually matters because I don't use cleans.... so how is it for rock and metal? possibly even a bit of punk?

Thanks for your time guys and happy new year!

I had the Attax Tour Reverb head years ago. Dont remember too much about it other than I apparently liked it.

Yeah, I was surprised by that clip for a combo amp, but a mic only heres one speaker no matter what if its right in front of the cab. If its anything like the Tour Reverb head I had, it will be great for metal.

I had a few of them. Lots of distortion. Lots of fizz. Similar to the Crate Flexwave distortion tone.
            Excellent clean.
Not a bad amp at all for home jamming. In a live setting it disappears.
Not enough midrange and bottom end.

Don't worry, I'm not gigging or anything lol, plus if the speakers suck I can always use my marshall cab, not going to moan for the price I got it for either XD
