Here are some of my tones. I'm not much of a guitar hero but this should illustrate what the 11R can do with a Jackson.

I recorded 15 seconds of riffing followed by some "8 year old at GC" wankery and re amped it through 3 of my patches. My patches aren't volume balanced so there will be general volume differences but there it is. It gets metal enough for me.

Oh I should also mention I was sitting too close to my monitor and getting some buzz through the pickups from it. (Also not using my decimator in front like I normally do. I just wanted to show you a quick and dirty demo to show some basic patches.)

Yeah, switching the mics out and tweaking the speaker breakup makes huge differences, unfortunately I didn't realize at first that all the re-amps I put it through were all variations of amps on pretty much the same dry patch. If I changed mics on the same patch you'd see bigger differences in the tone. Plus I probably don't have a great ear for tone to begin with haha.

All I really want is an Anthrax Among the Living era tone, a John Sykes '87 tone and a Paul Gilbert lead sound.
Maybe the occasional foray into Death Human era. Just near enough comparisons of what I usually dial in of course.

I downloaded a Mesa Mark IV lead tone and added a Dyn delay and Multichorus to it and its just over the top orgasmic.
I should have been recording but spent all night fucking about instead. Oh well.

Haha! I can identify with this problem. (Hmmm, i wonder how this would sound if I change mic axis. Or maybe a different dist block. Maybe I should try the bogner cab model. etc...)

Thinking on getting one. Does the Pro Tools work on win 7 64 bit? Will it let you record mic inputs if I want to crank and record my amps with a sm57 on a cab?

I just bought a new machine with win 7 pro, dumping Sonar and was considering PT MP9 but if LE comes with the 11R it sounds like a good deal. Plus I can use the modeler for DI for late night recording....

You definitely want to check out Digidesign's site and the DUC (pro tools user forum) for info on Windows comparability. When I had an 001 years ago issues existed with certain chip sets, but I do not know if that is still an issue. You can continue to use Sonar with the 11r.
