So there was talk of acquiring a Line6 Spider Valve MKII, but..... I came home with this instead:

Loving it so far, but well make a final decision on that come the weekend at practice.

Also, Ive already done one mod to it, I modded the footswitch to switch hi-gain and master channel at the same time to facilitate the "clean" and the lead channels to have separate master volumes. A necessity for my music, it was a pain in the ass trying to hit both buttons at the same time, now I dont have to, one button does it all. Just replaced one switch with a two pole on/on switch and wired the other pole to the positive of the other switch.

I just bought one a few weeks ago. We haven't had rehearsal for a couple of weeks, but we did audition drummers last Sunday so I brought it give it a whirl. I used a Marshall 1960a 4x12 that we had at the studio and it absolutely crushed! I used my G-major to switch it so that took care of the Gain/dual master problem. Thats it. Fireball with a G-maojor in the loop with a 1960a. Killer, killer, killer sounding, simple setup. This is the rig I've been looking for my whole life. I hope it sounds as good with my Mesa halfback. If not, look for a trade post in the classifieds. Good Luck. I know you're gonna love it.

Congrats on the new amp! Engls are awesome. I have a Sovereign and the E530/E830 rack pre-/poweramps which I run into their 412 standard cab.

Thank you for not having your balls in the reflection in the chrome.

Are those the positions you run the tone controls in or is that right out of the box?

I was wondering about that, too. Jason Newstead is pissed right now!

It's the Engl version of Mesa's V-shaped EQ

And now you'll get more ENGLs. Welcome to the family, the Fireball is a hell of an amp for the money.

Im still finding where I want everything. However, its not muddy at all with the eq like that.

You say it like theyre a bargain amp, cripes, they sell new for $1400. A tri-rec sells for $1800 new, price per watt, the Fireball is way more pricey.

Up here, Triple Rectifiers go for 2000.

                              Orange Rockerverb 50s go for 2000 - 2200

Isn't the Fireball much cheaper, price per watt, then that Rockerverb?

In comparison to other ENGLs, the Fireball is damn good value. I never said it was a cheap amp, but It's in the same range as a 6505+ (~1300). In my opinion, it's a way better amp.
