  • Introducing: S.T.F.U.

From the same mind that brought you the Overload(TM), http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/107...t=the+overload
comes the next must have guitar accessory.

    Introducing, The S.T.F.U(TM) box.

Need to swap guitars but not want to put your amp in standby, or off in the case of a SS amp? Are there multiple stops in your music but dont want tone suck from a gate or put excess wear on your channel pedal? If your answer is yes to any of the above, then the S.T.F.U. box is for you!!

Passive hardwiring with shielded cable provides quiet operation and keeps your tone intact. Switch breaks positive conductor and brings it to ground on the amp side. Heavy duty switch and heavy plastic enclosure means reliability night after night, gig after gig. Get yours today!!

Seriously though, I decided to say the hell with a gate or volume pedal, and this is what I came up with at 1am on a Monday morning. Insomnia is great.

cool man, similar to a BOSS NS-2 when in mute mode, you can stomp it to kill the signal and change guitars or just mute

but yeah cool idea, hope it works for you, Cheers!

Well, it wasnt as quiet as I wanted even with the shielded cable, so I lined it with aluminum foil. Now its as quiet as it possibly can be. A shielded switch would be cool, but you cant win 'em all.

I use a korg pitchblack tuner and it mutes the signal in tuning mode so I just switch it on when I am swapping guitars.

Ok, I guess weve missed the point of this kind of. I understand that this sort of thing already exists, but this was all various parts I already had laying around that was just in various junk drawers, so the point was creativity and resourcefulness without spending any further money at 1am.

Hell, I couldn't find a usable high gain, low watt amp and look what happened to me!

All of my guitars have this funny little knob marked volume. When I turn it to 0 it turns my guitar off. From what I was told, its unique to every guitar I have ever owned.
