  • Old moddleing amp

Had a 2X12 version a while back and always loved it.
Found this head a few weeks ago and thought hell why not buy it.
Absolutely great tones and lots of usable features.Kind of dated but for a 98 amp it still does a great job nailing some awesome tone.
The rectifier and Boogie Mk II settings are nice the Fender cleans are out of this world.
Roland settings are damn nice too.

    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I have a Johnson J-Station, which sounds great, most of the old mp3's in my site were recorded with it. Funny I went on a tube amp kick shortly after that although I like my tone I dint record as much because of the volume. Looking for perhaps an Eleven Rack to solve that and DI recording.

I have a J station on my PC desk and use it a lot.Great little unit.
The guy that had this did some great tweaking and left me some great patches to work with.
Love the Matchless ans Soldano patches.
Found a series of YT vids and learned a lot of useful tips.

No shit...I saw one in a pawn shop for what seemed like years and always thought it must've been a POS but I've heard good things about them.

Its pretty much the first modeling amp out there.Hughes Aircraft was the parent Co and it was their computer folks that came up with it IIRC.
You can really do a lot with it.

Stevie Blaze from Lillian Axe toured with them. Listen to their double live cd, and tell me they sound like shit...nope! But...they don't sound like a tube amp either - you can hear the "digitality" on those recordings.

Yeah you can hear a difference to some degree but you can tweak the signal chain and get a very good tube tone.
Its all in the signal chain, I figured out how to change the wet dry mix and wow is all I can say.
              Very touch sensitive too.
The vids on YT really helped me to understand just how to set things the guy is boring as hell but he sure knows this amp inside and out.

It has been fun finding stuff like this.
Still hoping to find a 59 burst for $100.00 but hasn't happened yet.
