I have been playing live with my rack pre > guitar input & clean channel Zinky 50-watt combo > 2x12 cabs. The natural girth and low-end was window shaking and I was running all eq'ing (amp and pre) at 12 o'clock.
I hated lugging the home amp around and the mickey mouse cabling/setup so last week I got a Mesa 2:fifty for the gaping hole in my rack. It sounds really good but I lost that bone shaking low end. Even when I bump up my lows on the preamp to 2 o'clock, it's still not even close to what I had before. I still like the convenience of the all-in-one rack but I do miss the huge lows.
