from the sound clip, i will stick with my egnater. sure, it's only one channel but it gives me almost all the sounds that i am hearing from that mini-recto for $400. if i need the extra gain, i will just throw a pedal in front of it. plus with the egnater i can run 6V6, 6L6 or EL34...
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

    and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I'm considering getting one of these down the road when I see and hear more convincing reviews and demos. For now I'd rather get the Hughes and Kettner TubeMeister. However, I must say this mini Rectifier looks awesome.

        Not impressed so far..hell no.

        That vid sucked balls!

Did anyone try the 6505+ 112 combo new for $500 out the door. It's portable, loud, versatile and sounds great clean, crunch, tight and mean..at any volume. what's the point of this kinda thing?

I, too, think they are expensive but the mini Rectifer is made in the USA.

The Egnater and other small amps out there do sound good and are cheaper but most of them are made in China or some other countries with cheaper labor. Even, the 6505+ 1x12 combo is now made in China.

yea, my VHT special 6 ultra combo is made in china too, but its hand wired. that thing has some SERIOUS quality. $300 shippped to my door! and it frickin ROCKS! I mean its got it! I think your going to see some good quality stuff come out of china in the future. If they are built as well as this VHT is and sound as good for a fraction of USA prices, hell yea I will consider them.

Hmm, is it just me, or do all the new Mesas just seem ... flat sounding?
Maybe its the tone of the vid, but to me, its very unimpressive. I get better hi-gain tones out of my $199 Tonelab.

Mesa amps were by far the best, but lately, it seems like they rely on the name to entice buyers.

                  Tone is obviously extremely subjective.

But Mesa's are kick ass in terms of build quality and the company standing behind the product.

I can`t believe VHT has an amp made in China. I have lost alot of respect for Steve Freyette. The 6505+ combo shocks me also.

Personally I'd rather take a Carvin V3m or a Randall RM22 over this
(Though the RM would be more expensive in total, not liking the amp is cured by a swap of modules instead of ebaying the entire thing)

Freyette sold the VHT name to the Chinese. He still produces his amps as Freyette amplifiers. These new amps actually have nothing to do with him.

I'm with most here, sounds great but for $1100?? Hmmm..... I could wait. I know you want that small amp to get away from dragging around a heavy head but when you can pick up a used Dual for the price of this new, it'll make you say,"Yeah, I'll wail for a used one." or buy the Dual used and lug it around.

Don't say that too loud, for all we know, maybe Fryette is smart enough to not have his name attached to "those jerb stealing chins" while still raking in the cash
a lot of US manufacturers are getting flak and losing sales over that
(As it is, I'm betting VHT is selling a lot more than Fryette)
