I want that tight mark IV tone. what to do. Here's my setup:

Going through the models in my 1101, I cannot figure out how to make the TripleRec+Recto cab sound not-farty. The 62 Bassman with a Tube Screamer model sounds more Metal to me. It's got beef, bark, and bite. The Recto stuff has Fart, Flub, and Barf.

I am glad I have a small penis, it makes double stop bends far easier with a Floyd rose. stays in tune better than with big penises.

-Grow a larger penis
And I mean 'grow', not bobbit it and add 5cm of schlong, bad news would mean you just recieved free entry into the Blue Oyster Bar

again, no more interest in mixed showers
-Become Gay/3Reach

Okay maybe this will work:
Im getting a bare knuckle pick up, the miracle man in the bridge (instead of the JB)
im turning down the gain and setting it on vintage (though i think the function is damaged beacause theres no difference at all in the sound when i switch between the 3 modes)

maybe getting an eq. and the eq should be in the effect loop?

when all this is done, i will report back. should i maybe sell the dual rectifier and get a mark IV instead? xD

A good amp to it's user shouldn't be alot of this and that. It really should be a fairly instant thing. Whenever I find an amp I click with..it really doesn't matter how I set the EQ..or what guitar I'm playing. This has been my rule of thumb for 35 years..

Any amp I plug in a try..first thing I do is the "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" intro..it has to be there instantly or it's shit to me.

Of course, once you got it dialled in & set up, it became the last amp you'll ever buy. But it wasn't immediate.

I can buy into that. It took me a while to get my Mesa Road King where I was happy with it. there is like 51 fuckin options for every channel on it, so you can spend weeks just trying options, tubes, modes, rectifiers, etc..... the list never frickin ends. I am sure that amp has probably driven at least 7 people insane. its a great amp, but its NOT a plug and play. you need to spend time with it. It takes a while to find every amps "sweet spot".

There shouldn't be any problems whatsoever getting chugga chugga sound with the recto and JB pickup if the amp isn't fucked up, the guitar's electronics are functioning properly and the cab and the tubes are ok, some OD boost helps to tighten it up but other than that there's no need for extra equipment. But then again most of the amp problems (concerning sound) described in the internet are utterly mystical to me, specially when it comes to very common and widely used amplifiers.

well, you could just a mark iv if thats what you really want. but Endrik is right. should have no problem getting chugga chuggas out of that setup.

here is an idea...... sometimes less is more. back off your gain and see if the chugga chuggas sound better. or try adjusting your presence control up a tad. back off the bass a bit. see if it crunches better.
