My Peavey 6505+ 112 has the 4,8,16 ohm selector switch and I have no understanding of it. Its on 16 and Im not using any additional speakers...is that where it needs to be, on 16? Thanks.

Check the speaker inside and find out it's ohm rating (should be written on it). You want to make sure the speaker and the selector switch match. I also think for most 1x12 combos the speakers are 8ohms but check.Comment

Then you're good. Just match the impedance selector to the speaker or cab impedance. I like 16 ohm speakers and cabs.Comment
