  • ohms question

Ok, so my 6505+ combo has 1 16ohm 12" in it, and I have a peavey 2x12 cabinet that is 16ohms. When plugging in this extension cab, should I be on 8ohms or 16?

8 ohms if your using the combo speaker AND the extension cab.

just 16 ohm if its ONLY the extension cab.

Thanks guys! That other cab as an extension makes all the difference in the clarity of the highs. I now have my ideal tone...for now.

I have a great amp, the best I've ever owned in fact, but it's a combo. It's cool that it's portable in a pinch but it sounds like shit on its own compared to when it's powering a 4x12 cab or two. Night and day.
