Playing around with my main rig as well as my backup rig and something interesting came to mind.
My stripped down backup rig consisting of just a stock ADA MP-1 with an Rocktron Intellifex into a Marshall Valvestate 80, nails a more accurate 80's JCM 800 tone than my main rig with the Marshall JMP1!
More alive and rough and plenty more gain and crunch too! Makes the main rig sound so compressed and dare I say...digital compared to the ADA.
Gonna have to try the ADA in the main rig in place of the JMP1 and see what tones I get.
I read once that while the ADA is a true tube analog pre amp, the Marshall is all digital with a tube in there for tone shaping?
