I am thinking of checking out an Orange Dark Terror for a quiet nighttime toy when my wife is asleep and to have a different amp sound to play with for cheap.
I have found conflicting info on the web about speaker connections. I have read that there are 3 connections, 1 16 ohm output and 2 8 ohm outputs. The question I have is about the 8 ohm outputs.
I read that you can connect 2 16 ohm cabinets to the 8 ohm outputs, but not 2 8 ohm cabinets. I believe it said because they are wired in parallel.
On another site I read that you can connect 2 8 ohm cabinets to the 2 8 ohm outputs.
Another site said that you have to connect 2 16 ohm cabinets in parallel off either one of the 8 ohm outputs (not quite sure what that meant)
Can anyone confirm what is true?
I want to be able to drive 2 4 x 12 cabinets. They have a 16 ohm input setting, a 4 ohm setting, or an 8 ohm setting if you only run 2 speakers. Obviously I would like it best if you could power 2 16 ohm cabs, but even if I could run 2 8 ohm cabs I could make it work. But I don't think I'm interested if you can only run one 16 ohm or 1 8 ohm at a time. I just like to have 2 cabs pushing air.
I am thinking of having a local guy get one in for me to try, but I don't want to waste his time if it is something I know I don't want.
Thanks for any help, and any other reviews would be more than welcome.
