although this thread is a little old, I have also had my 1000 for many years without a glitch...
PLUS I am a bassplayer and it shows root notes perfectly without having to hit the harmonic to get it to respond like so many others, even when tuned to D standard.

those damn dtr1000's are "most expensive", I have seen used go for 100-175
except for what this guy wants....lol

I have used many tuners that sucked for bass Warlock, pedals, strobe style, stupid red LED units that are about as bad as tuning by ear but for rack use, unless it stops working it will be with me for a long time. The guitarplayers don't have much of a problem but I would recommend a 1000 or a 2000 for anyone even if the cost is a little high. If the new ones they make are just as fast and accurate when this one bites the dust, I'll take the plunge.

so guess what Warlock, I was at practice Sunday before the superbowl and the guitarplayer had all his gear in the room we use. I asked him about his DTR-1. He said it hummed just like yours so although he left it in the rack, he has a boss pedal now. He said next time I'm there I could have it because it's junk to him.

Hmm, did your guitarist use the plastic rackisolators that came with it? (and it's never a bad idea to keep it out of the signal path)
I have a DTR-1 for years now and have no issues whatsoever (even when I used it as A/B box and having it in the signalchain)"There's nothing taking away from the pure masculinity I possess"
-"You like Anime"
"....crap!"

I have no clue, I saw it in the rack and he knows I have that old 1000 and he said that thing hummed and he never used it.
Worse case sanario is it DOES work 100% and I'll sell it if he's giving it to me for free cause I dont need it
