Ok... I calculated the inside airspace.. It's 3.75 cubic feet!! That's huge. Most speakers require about 1-1.5 cf each. I wired some 1993 8ohm Eminence Somethingorothers (Legend-like) in series for 16 ohm. I liked these speakers in this cab before but more as vintage sounding. Like for playing AC/DC, Zeppelin, and bluesy stuff etc. Didn't have tight bottom end and raw highs I like for metal. Now in this sealed huge cab, there is real bottom end that wasn't there before. Kinda makes them seem more scooped and meaty. But kick up the mids and they sound like a mix between my Vintage 30's (but more scooped) and my G12t-100's (but tighter bottom). Really like the sound as of now. I normally run my Carvin 4x12 slant with G12T-100's and my Randall 2x12 with V30's. This cab mixed with my 4x12 with the G12T-100's, I had to kick up the mids. Sounded a bit scooped and thin. Badly want to hear it mixed with the V30's. Think it'll be a very full tone!! But need a longer MIDI cable without rearranging the studio.. HA awesome! You Pete Townshend it! Cabs used to be 8 speakers and Pete needed it to be smaller to move around so he cut a Marshall cab (if my memory is correct) in half making what we know today as the 4x12. Good job. Never be afraid to try something as long as you can afford to call it a loss. Looks solid and I cant wait to hear it!
