Anyone familiar with the Boss MD-2?

So my cousin gave me that pedal and it sounds like sh|t !!! theres such a humming sound coming out of it ?? .....normal MD-2 sound or problem with the one I have ???

Are you using it on an already overdriven channel? if so then yes it will probably sound like shit

Or maybe switch to the clean channel on your amp.

If you take the battery out and run an AC adapter, I'd use electrical tape to wrap the battery connector up. Sometimes it makes contact with metal inside the pedal and gives you weird noises. Just something I do on all pedals when using an AC adapter to eliminate that possibility.

I've not really heard of problems with leaving the connector as is. But I do wrap mine. Heat shrink is a neater solution as electrical tape can get gooey after awhile.
