    Well John, maybe your Mesa wouldn't sound so shrill if you followed my amp repair advice!

      Thanks bro. I did lick the preamp tubes. It started to sound better. I then shoved one of the EL84's up my ass, left it in there for the day and reinstalled it that evening. The amp sounds really shitty now.
