  • My little amp stable.

I don't have a family pic but here is what I have in regards to amps and cabs. I am thinking about getting rid of the Randall RM100 for something else strictly because I only use it a few times a year and I would love to try another amp. Something by Engl or VHT this time although I wouldn't mind a nice Mark III or a Mark IV head. I have been using my 5150-II head mostly now. That amp rocks big.

    What do you guys have?

Mesa Boogie Studio 22 Plus combo with matching Mesa extension cabinet
    Washburn PG100H head
Randall RM100 head with Blackface, Ultra and XTC modules
    Peavey 5150-II head
    Crate XT120R combo
    Fender Pro Junior combo
Marshall 1960B cab loaded with T75 Celestions
Peavey 5150-II bottom 4 x 12 cab loaded with Sheffields

Engl E530/E830 rack preamp+poweramp with full stack standard Engl cabs (main rig, the preamp has been modded by Folkesson)
Mesa Boogie Mark V with Stiletto 412 Cab
      Engl Sovereign 2*10" combo
Framus Dragon (on long-term loan to my bandmate)

I think if I'm picking up any more ams, it's going to be an Engl Invader.

Is the RM100 too loud? Check out their other amps. Damn, I heard one smaller than my RT50C earlier today, and I fuggin WANT IT!

I just have my Traynor YCS-50 combo ( http://www.traynoramps.com/products....&cat=63&id=392 ) and my Digi 11 Rack. I tried out a Splawn Street Rod head and 2x12 but I didn't dig it. I'm blaming the EL84 tubes there though. The dealer has a Nitro in stock as well and a 2x12 with mixed speakers that I am planning on going back and trying out (I dig a scoppy metal tone) to see if I can bond with it. If I can I'll likely part with the Traynor though. But as it stands it's better and more versatile than the Splawn Street Rod for me.

Nothing fancy, but these get the job done nicely for me.

            Two Carvin SX300 2x12 combos
            Roland Micro Cube.

Line 6 spider valve II 2x12 combo with 6L6's and V30's
              Peavey Valveking head with 6L6's
Rack for recording with Boss gt-pro, bbe sonic maximiser and rocktron velocity 120
              2x12 cab loaded with V30's

I don't really play live any more so for home use it's enough. When I get back to performing I'm thinking of getting a 1960 cab to run with the rack (with vintage 30's of course!)
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

                Randall RM100M with JF 59RR, JF Ultra/XL, 1086, and KH1
Crate GX900H (Cleanest clean for running a preamp/fx through)
Peavey Renown 400 (in back of closet for years, need to grab a damn Automixer switch..)

Digitech ValveFX (use FX only, no preamp models)
Digitech RP12 and a bunch of stomp boxes in the closet for occasional tinkering.

                Carvin 4x12 with G12T-100s
                Randall R212CS with V30s
                Carvin 2x12 (cut 4x12 in 1/2) with Eminence "Something-or-others"
Have 2 more Eminences and a G12T-75. Waiting to pick up another G12T-75 to try an X pattern with the V30s..

jgcable - Before you get too far into the idea of getting rid of the RM100, the discontinuing of the MTS line has brought pricing of the amps down some. The modules are still OK but the amps are going pretty cheap so if you don't need the cash or the room, may be worth it to just keep them instead of taking it in the shorts on resale..

My list varies too much to bother to post.
The only amps that I have KEPT, and used frequently are:
Cygnus Lead-7 1x12 Combo (not available for sale...sorry)
                        Various Cygnus heads...
'67 SF Deluxe Reverb (29 years in my hands)
                        Peavey Studio Chorus
And for bass, a Kustom Commander.
                        Peavey 5150 4x12 slant cab
                        Fender '67 Bassman 2x12 cab.

I've built others like the Spitfire, Champs of various stripes, Pro Tweeds, etc.
The ONE I need to keep for myself sometime would be a Spitfire.
But they slip through my fingers...

                          evh 5150 III
                          marshall yjm100
                          mesa roadster

i put them in order of likeness, the mkV is easily the best amp ive ever played next to a slo and even then they are on par imo, but i wouldnt trade it for anything ever. the 5150 is really sweet and has gain for days. the yjm is nice but i just dont think im a marshall guy its hissy fizzy and kinda thin, and the roadster was the 1st nice amp i bought, and havent plugged it in since i got the mkV so cant really give a review right now.

Lot of Randalls in the group.
Played them, but never owned one.
