It comes with a lot of profiles already made. And there is also the Rig Exchange where users upload their own profiled amps.

I'm not looking for an Axe vs. Kemper debate, guys. That can be a whole different thread, and quite frankly, I'm tired of the debate already. They have BEAT IT TO DEATH over at TGP.

I bought an Axe for what it does. If I wanted to profile amps, I would have gotten a Kemper.

sorry Chris. Wasn't my intention to derail. You already have the Axe en route anyway so it's a bit late for anyone to recommend something else. Just since the Kemper came up, I thought I'd ask.

I've decided (again) that modeling is really where it's at for me, especially since I have a penchant for boredom. The Axe changes things up often enough that it doesn't really become a problem that way.

I'll miss the Splawn, but I think a buddy will be buying it. Once Cliff gets the "profiling" feature up to snuff, I'll be able to "have my Splawn back".
I agree Chris. I still miss my Vetta II head. I was running it through a Marshall 4 x 12 loaded with T75's and with the longboard there was no tone I felt I couldn't recreate. I got nothing but compliments everytime we gigged. The other guys in the band wanted me to go more traditional so at that time I sold it and bought a Soldano SLO100 and a G-Major.
I heard clips of the Axe FX and the Ultra and the II and its just amazing. It seems that all the pro's are using them now. Most of the time in the studio but its just a matter of time before you see them everywhere live.
Very cool. I'll have one one day.

No worries! The KPA is really cool, no doubt about it. If I didn't already have an Axe and so impressed by what it does, I'd likely have grabbed the Kemper, and saved a chunk of change. That said, with as good as the Axe Ultra is, and knowing how much better the Axe 2 users are saying it is, the choice was easy to make.

The versatility is just unrivaled, and the models I use are sooooo good compared to the real thing. Shit, I just sold my Friedman after a/b'ing it with the BE & HBE on the Axe. That should tell you something, since Friedmans aren't exactly free...

Sounded great. Then I dumped the VHT and the cabs and picked up 2 QSC K-12's. I played with a friend that had a Engl powerball + full stack that was very surprised of the volume and the tone that I was getting. Then again, I am not playing out anymore and just having something that totaled ~30 lbs and only a couple of cables was nice. It's a great portable system and recording with it is totally simple. I didn't have to haul around all that gear and debug it every single time I hooked it back up. To me, that was worth the cost of admission. I don't even think about buying effects or amps anymore. The sound coming out of this thing is godly.

The most important thing is to pay attention to the setup process. And since you are using your own cabs, remember to disable them in the setup.

Wow..this is crazy stuff. Weird, high tech scary crazy stuff. I'm afraid!

                I'm a caveman. I wish I had those Uberkabs.

Chris, what are you going to do with the Nitro?

                  Dude... I get fucking lost...

I don't understand a lot of it, I just know the signal routing will basically allow you to do whatever the fuck you want. There just isn't pre/post effects. You can just stack anything, anywhere. And yeah, those uberkabs are stock IR's in the II.

Nice to have you around again, Billz

I did the AxeFx thing for a couple years. Had the whole experience, but after all was said and done, I'm back to tube amps. I just never liked the tone of FRFR (and I used a quality RCF PA speaker). I like the in the room sound of an amp/cab and have no problem with versatility or getting good live tone.

Johnny G is perfectly happy right now with his 5150-II half stack, his Randall RM100 1/2 stack, his Fender Pro Junior for blues chatter and with his new Rivera Hundred Duo Twelve.
I can see an original 1st gen Ax Fx for me down the road though when they are $300.00 which should be in a year or 2.

Kemper has pre-sets. You also can easily trade/share profiles with those who create them.

Congratulations onthe AxeFx II. I'd love to have one, as well as the Kemper thingy.
