  • Fun Night - Blew an output tube on my Randall

I was goofing around, playing with my RT-503. Had my attenuator connected.

Forgot I had my clean channel dimmed right out, switched over and Bam, sizzle, buzzzzz, pop...

Blew the main fuse, replaced and nothing but hum, then blew the fuse again.

This amp has external fuses for the power tube section, as well as idiot lights, and none of those tripped.. <shrug>

Took her apart, and sure enough one very burnt tube socket.
I didn't see anything else wrong, the ceramic resistor for that socket looked okay, so did the internal fuse.

    Fun Times..

Now remind me why I stopped using modelers?!?
Working...
