Really Rudy..you didn't like the POD pro with Mesa 2:90? I only heard them live, but hearing and playing them are two different things. I've heard amp that sounded fine but wrong in my hands and visa-versa. It just has to feel and respond right. For me, a Mesa Dual Recto is the epitome of that example. That amp is just so wrong for me, and amazing for others. OH, Rudy..how's that JFX-1 workin' out man?!

Anywhoo..my exhalted, sacred rack since new in '96.

    Furman PL-8
BBE 422..only that one for me.
Marshall JFX-1...essential part of my rig.
    Marshall JMP-1 w Sovtek 12ax7s
    Marshall 9200 w/ original Sovtek 5881

Stereo into four stock Marshall 1960b cabs.

    No noise gate, or wireless.

I use ONE tone for everything I do, and roll back volume knob for cleans/dynamics. One trick pony here.

    Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

I've heard others use them and they sounded better to me than when I used mine live. I don't know, perhaps I just didn't have it dialed in right but whatever it was it didn't sound as good to me as my amps. Ironically, the next amp I bought was a Dual Recto. The Dual Recto sounds good but only turned up. At low volumes its tone changes completely, and not for the better. I had the Pod Pro some 12 years ago so its been a long time. Years later I used an Axe Fx Ultra and the first time out our drummer said it was the best guitar tone I've had live. That was just the Ultra through a powered QSC wedge. Since then I've been using my amps over the last couple of years live, mainly the Marshall Rhoads which cuts through like no other, as well as my Bogners and occassionally the Soldano SLO or Bad Cat Hot Cat 30R. For really small places I use a Hot Cat 30 1x12 combo, in fact last year I used it at Ripper Owen's Taphouse as the stage there is small. That little thing rips! Lots of compliments that night on the tone Its a 30w Class A amp. As for the JFX-1 I was using it a bit through the loop of my Uberschall and it sounds good. Right now its racked up with some other pieces and I'm finishing up the wiring/cabling in the back. Wallwarts can sometimes be a royal pain to deal with. I was waiting on a Furman wallwart spaced piece to add in the back so I can plug everything in. It arrived, sniped on E-Bay as usual, just have to mount it with some screws to the sidewall inside the back of the rack and it should all be up and running. BTW Bill, I too still have my BBE 422A from the late 80's. I don't really use it much these days but I won't get rid of it. I used to use it with my MP-1 from 1989-1991 or so

Too bad my JFX loses its wet signal without reason (perhaps a battery problem?) sounded great and was pretty easy to dial in some good atmosphere

These things are hard to find in the USA. I kept looking on E-Bay and even had wanted ads on a couple forums. The only thing I got was a scammer responding and trying to sell me one. I ended up buying from E-Bay UK with the help of a fellow JCFer there (Wilkinsi). They're also expensive when they do come up for sale. I haven't had mine long enough to know if yours is acting up because of a battery problem. But it does sound like the easiest place to start trouble shooting.

I had a JFX-1 a few years ago within my rig and could not dial in a sound that I really liked. It had a hollow tone to it that I did not like.

I ended up selling it an making a killing IIRC. Man those things fetch top dollar on ebay!

Always preferred to use either my Digitech TSR-24S (killer sleeper unit BTW) or recently one of my Rocktron Intellifex units.

I have a couple different versions of the Intellifex/Replifex which I picked up used off E-Bay for pretty reasonable prices. They sound good too. A friend used a TSR in his rack for years. I can't remember whether he had a TSR 24 or TSR 12 though. He had it with an MP1, Peavey Classic 50 power amp and 31band eq. I think he may still have that TSR, I'm not sure.

I just couldn't bond with the stuff. I was getting good sounds out of it but I didn't like the effects on it that much. I made money on the deal so I'm ok with letting it go. There was just something missing in the tone and feel

I picked up a bugera 1960. Its a little closer to what I'm looking for. Going to do the randy rhoads mod on it and maybe a ppimv. This is a little closer to having the dynamics and feel I'm looking for
