  • TimeMachine, the Quest for Rack cheeze.

Okay, my recent return to the ADA MP-1` fold, combined with my 45th B-Day, I've decided to put together the ultimate rack system from days gone by.

Goal: To completely piss EVERYONE off on open jam nights by being "That Old 80's Rack Guy"
Requirements: Must be Rack Gear, no heads or combo amps.
Must be gear available from around '83 to '89

I've already got my Soloist Pro and Marshall Slant 412.
I've got my MP-1 and Microtube Power Amp
I've got a Rocktron Hush IIC

    Still need:
    EQ
    Delay Unit / Multi-FX
Speaker sim - Palmer PDI or ADA Microcab
    Alternative pre-amp?
    BBE ?
    Period correct control pedal

    Anything missing?

I want to end up with a 12 space unit, so I can roll it next to the guy with the Egnator/OCD setup and ask
"Where's the rest of your stuff?!?"

for delay/multi effects a couple of the popular ones were:

      yamaha SPX90
      alesis quadraverb
      lexicon PCM 70, 80, 90
      TC 2290
      ADA S1000
      Digitech DSP128, DSP256
      Roland GP8, GP16
      GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

      and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I remember the ART stuff, I could never afford that stuff, so I have no experience with them.
Looking around the 'net, most seem to have a negative opinion of them.

I've come across a Digitech GSP-21 with foot controller, not sure when it was made.

Most of us back then had the Digitech DSP 128 or 128+, Yamaha SPX 90, or you can do as I did and finally broke down back then and splurged on a Korg A3. I still have my MP-1 and Microtube power amp from then but sold off the Korg A3 years ago as well as the DSP 128+. The Digitech DSP 128, wow was that a long time ago!
