  • New Cyg amp day

Got this in a trade with Cyg and holy shit what an amp!
4 watts of pure tone.Thru this Ampeg cab with V30's it lays down some super clean tones.
Crank it a hair past half way and you start to get some nice break up 3/4 you get some nice hair very very over driven vintage tone.
Add a BB/MB pre-amp pedal and thats all you need to shake pictures off the wall I'm serious!
Thanks Cyg this is a killer amp.
Had it out this weekend at a store demo'ing it and the whole store was gathered around asking all kinds of questions.
One guy asked me how many watts it that thing putting out? When I told him 4 watts he was stunned.
Funny thing had the radio on top of a Marshall 4X12 and one young kid said where is the amp?I said I was playing thru the radio on top.
He said no way dude where is the amp head?

Kevin is the man for sure. Amps aside, a class act all around.

        Oh chit.
What do I do to get it back now!

I'm hauling around my heavy 1x12 Sunn Alpha that I built into a Cyg-7.
        Fugger is too big!

        Glad you like it.

It ain't going anywhere I will say that.
I was all set on a new JMP 1 watt Marshall head and don't need one now .
I have a short sound clip with just my memory boy pedal for verb and delay but can't figure out how to post it via photobucket zip file.

I liked this project. Cool dead simple amp in an interesting box. I'm actually jonesing to build my own amp soon. I'll probably buy a kit somewhere to do it but I'm sure if I go for it I'll be peppering Cyg with PM's.

A kit is a good way to start.
                  Some have excellent instructions.

                  Or so I read.
                  I don't do kits!
Unless someone wants me to build one for them.

Looks just like an amp that was 4 sale over in the MLP forum classifieds. You a member there too?

I thought it looked familiar. That fellow was fast at picking it up from you Cygnus X1.
I was lurking around over there, seems like a week or so ago and noticed you had that one for sale. You apparently do some great work because that little deal is pretty sharp.
I'll try to keep an eye out in case you come up with more similar ideas.

                          Thanks Curtis.
Straycat and I go back a ways, and I saw a deal
that worked for both of us.
Plus I got something I've been trying to find for a long time!

Never know what I might build or find next.
I'm poking through a 30 watt high gain version of my old standby Cygnus-7 Lead amp.
The prototype sounds great so I need to get cracking.

Kevin and I do go way back and I saw the chance to get a Cyg amp sometime this century!
Deal worked out fine I think this amp kicks ass.
All my buds dig the hell out of it too and even used it to do an overdub on a song.Probably be up on sound cloud or Reverb Nation here soon.
The amps used on that song are Mesa MKIIC with some Cyg amp thru a Marshall 2X12 with green backs.
The Cyg amp was cranked and doing its thing.
